Report for Private Residence – Mid-Norfolk

The crew split into two groups; one started upstairs and the other downstairs/outside, before swapping over. The intention was to compare notes later for any similarities or differences in our findings. The evening was to culminate with all of us meeting up in the cellar – where plenty of paranormal activity was expected.

Glow Worm and Black Swan worked together again, but this time with Firefox and Red Bird, accompanied by the daughter of the owner.

We started on the top (2nd) floor. As we reached the landing, we all felt ‘winded’, as if we were struggling to breath – but this feeling was not related to our fitness levels! We could all smell tobacco smoke, even though none of the current occupants smoke upstairs. Red Bird also picked up a flowery, sweet smell, but only in the connecting doorways.

Glow Worm felt that this part of the house had previously been a look-out tower, and that this had possibly been used as a Hunting Lodge by King Henry VIII (due to close proximity to Blickling Hall). She felt that the roof had decayed in the 1800’s; there were two staircases one at each end of the building – but neither there any longer. She could feel the presence of a man pacing up and down the corridor – smoking.

Firefox sensed a spirit child in the bedroom – called Daisy, aged about 4-5 years old. She was always cold. The owner’s daughter said that when she slept in that room she could often hear shuffling/scratching on the wall. Firefox could sense Daisy shuffling along side the wall beside the bed.

The second bedroom on this level felt cold – again the roof had been decayed. Down a level on the first floor, in the study, Barry’s left leg suddenly went icy cold. A man in his mid-30’s came forward thorough him. Tall, slim, had a shrapnel wound in
his leg – injured in 1st World War – invalided out of the army. Came to this house to visit his mother who worked there. Said he came from a Regiment based in Bedfordshire. The name of Roy Bradshaw was came through. And this was his
mother’s room – she worked here as a cook. The owner’s daughter said that she often felt frozen in this room, even with the central heating on full.

Suddenly Glow Worm felt the need to belch/burp, like she’d just drunk coke-a-cola! Another man came through – young, a smoker with a moustache, very unkempt, but very tall, with big feet, wearing a cap. He wasn’t anyone important, but he liked to think he was! He was chewing tobacco, as this was the thing to do. He was a forester, a single man who liked the good life. Date was 1862. He had a sad smell about him (on his hands) – had lost a child here, who he said was buried in the
graveyard close by – “in spitting distance”.

Red Bird could smell boiled eggs – the owner said that they could often smell eggs & bacon cooking especially when they first moved in.

Firefox felt that Roy Bradshaw’s mother was here – she was crying. In the next bedroom on this level, Firefox felt the presence of a lady with a deformed face (Bells Pausy?). The left side of her face felt sore – made it difficult for her to eat
someone was shouting at her – Daisy had come to hold her hand. She felt unhappy with herself, but the children loved her. Glow Worm felt there were lots of children in this room from different periods of time; all laughing, having a good time; the room
had a nice feeling about it – felt feminine.

In the third bedroom on this level, there were mixed energies; felt busy, but nothing specific. Red Bird could smell matches being struck and also the same perfume as he did up on the 2nd floor. Firefox could hear children again – perhaps it used to be the nursery?

Looking down the stairs in to the lobby, Glow Worm took some photos of some very clear orbs – one was on Red Bird elbow. Daisy was with Firefox again.

In the “Snug” Glow Worm felt this had been used as a “Sunday Parlour”; friendly energies in this room; tobacco smell again. Residual energies from antiques?

In the kitchen, both Firefox and Glow Worm detected water/a well under the floor. The well is actually outside – also used to be a swimming pool outside, but now filled in as a dog had drowned in it. Firefox felt the presence of nuns walking through this
area, chanting.

After a refreshing cup of tea, we all went down into the cellar. There were two blanked-off tunnels, which are supposed to lead to the Church about a mile away. The left hand tunnel felt the most active. Crowolf felt this had been used by smugglers in it’s hey-day. We formed a circle and all joined hands to try and bring forward the spirits. There was a very strong spirit who came through to The Orb Queen.
